Thank you for your interest in Columbia City Bakery’s Community Supported Bakery (CSB)! We are bringing artisan breads and sweets to neighborhoods throughout Seattle every week. We appreciate your support, and hope that you will spread the word to your friends and neighbors. This is a great alternative when you just can't make it to the cafe.
Our CSB operates year-round and you can order and begin receiving deliveries at any time. If you are a returning member, you will need to create a new user name.

Why A CSB?
Based on the model of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), our Community Supported Bakery (CSB) aims to create a more direct relationship between our artisan bakers and customers. A subscription to our CSB provides you with a weekly delivery of breads and sweets, dropped off at a convenient location in your neighborhood. You can personally select the items you want, or you can let our bakers make the decisions for you with our Baker's Choice (our most popular option).
The style of bread we bake requires a natural, slow fermentation process, and is best made in small batches by bakers who have the passion to do it consistently. We want the bakery to remain small, but also want to compensate our bakers at a rate that makes baking a viable career. Simply put, your subscription to our CSB helps us achieve that goal.
How Does Our CSB Work?
Our CSB is all about choice. When you “Build Your Own” you choose the items you want, how many of each item you want and where you want to pick up your “Share” . You are assured of liking everything in your bag because you picked it!
If you prefer, we will choose the content of your share for you, delivering a sampling of our products during your subscription. This "Baker's Choice" option costs $136 for eight weeks of delivery, and includes two loaves of bread and a sweet treat (such as a dozen cookies or teacake) each week. $136 is our smallest “Share” and the minimum amount necessary to subscribe to the CSB.
Our CSB runs year-round and you can begin receiving deliveries at any time. Every Tuesday, we will pack and deliver your order to your pick-up site. It is then your responsibility to collect your order within the time frame specified for your location.
Our current delivery area extends to Lake Washington in the east, West Seattle in the west, Rainier Beach in the south and Green Lake in the north. You can view our current “Pick-Up” sites by clicking on the “Subscribe” link on the right.
Hosting a Pick-up site
If you don’t see a pick-up site in your neighborhood or the one you want to use is full, why not consider hosting one at your home or business? We are always looking for pick-up site hosts. If you host a pick-up site, you can expect a bin of labeled orders to be delivered to your porch or business on Tuesday afternoons. We will gather the empty bins when we drop off the next week’s orders.
We will deliver to any location within our delivery area (see above) that can support a minimum of five CSB subscriptions. Please contact your friends, neighbors or coworkers and see if they would like to join you in subscribing to a CSB. If you can recruit four families in your neighborhood or at your workplace to sign up for a bag, you can host a CSB. If you would like to host, but do not have a large enough group of subscribers, please contact us and we will attempt to group you together with other subscribers in your neighborhood.
What Does A Subscription Cost?
Our smallest subscription or minimum commitment is $136 or $17/week for eight weeks. You may order more or less each week if you choose the “Build Your Own” subscription in which case your deliveries may end before eight weeks if you empty your account. We do require you to use the entire payment within eight weeks.
When your account balance drops below $30 you will receive an email notification and are given the opportunity to add more money to extend your subscription, modify it, or let it run out. Every member is able to modify their share subscription at any time.
If you are a “Build Your Own” subscriber, you will need to login to place your order each week. However, you will commit a minimum of $136 at sign up, and deduct your weekly share cost over eight weeks. You have to meet a $17/week minimum delivery, but other than that, how you spend and space your deliveries over eight weeks is up to you.

The Simple Steps to Join

Please read through the following steps before signing up. These instructions will not be available for viewing once you click on the link to join us. Our menu can be viewed without creating an account. We recommend taking a look at the menu before you begin.
By clicking on the link to sign up you will be redirected to a secure page where you will be guided through the following steps.
Step 1: Select a “Pick-up Site”.
This is where we’ll drop of your order each week. If the preferred site is at capacity and no longer able to accept new members, it will be listed as “full”. You can then select a second site or be added to a waiting list. We are always looking for new sites. If you would like to host a Pick-up Site, please contact us for details.
Step 2: Select your “Share”.
We offer a variety of different Shares to accommodate your family size and preferences. Each has a “View Details” link where you can get specific information about the share.
The “Baker’s Choice” shares include a variety of baked goods selected by us. During the course of your eight-week subscription you will sample nearly everything we bake. This share is also available in “Nut Free,” “Bread Lovers,” “Sweet Lovers,” and “Lunch Box” options.
If you prefer, the “Build Your Own Share” option allows you to choose exactly what you want delivered each week. You can create a recurring order and not have to think about it again for the entire season. The same order will come each week. Or, you can login to your account each week during our Webstore Hours to place unique, one-time orders. This method allows you to order just what you need for the coming week. You will be notified by email of the Webstore hours.
Step 3: Add “Options” to your weekly order.
Customers who select a “Baker’s Choice” share but want to add something extra can do so using “Options”. Popular items from our menu are available to choose from. Simply select the items you want added to your delivery, from a bag of cookies or brownies to an extra baguette for dinner. “Options” are recurring and will be delivered every week over the eight week subscription.
Step 4: Select “Terms” of Payment.
Now that you have selected your share size and options, you will be given several payment choices. Your first choice is to simply pay the balance due, which will be calculated for you. But doing so means you will have to pay again later for any extra options you decide to add during the season.
If you prefer, we offer the option of placing funds directly into your account to draw from. For example, you can choose to put $200 dollars into your account and use that money to pay for your subscription. The balance is available to purchase whatever options you like from our Webstore during the season.
Step 5: Provide “Contact Info” and “Pay” for your share.
You can either sign in to your existing account or register for a new account. After completing these steps you will receive an email confirmation from us with your account subscription information.
For your convenience, we have provided an “Automatic Payment” option that you can select on this page. By doing so, you give us permission to charge your credit card the amount needed to return to your original subscription rate when your CSB account balance goes below $30.00. You will receive an email notification, and you can stop, modify, or continue your subscription at any time.
